Bringing a new electric vehicles section into the Eon estate

Introducing a new sitemap and pages for electric vehicles with discovery & analysis

The task at hand was to introduce an electric vehicles section into the Eon Energy Residential and Business sections. Discovery would determine where this would sit, with SEO analysis informing the types of pages to be created.

The approach

Competitor review. Project canvasses workshop. Customer outcomes creation (aligned with business outcomes). Defined epics, themes and stories. Navigation sitemap for navigation hierarchy workshop. Information architecture for BUs (SEO data). Define user journeys (eg identify multiple funnels). Axure prototypes. Two days of testing prototypes

Testing with Userzoom

Three tests were set up in userzoom asking questions to owners and prospective owners of electric vehicles considerations on purchase. Once this was synthesised it was used to inform the sItemap which was creatd along with the information gleaned from the SEO analysis.

User journeys from personas

Low fidelity wireframes were then created in Miro to enable workshopping the early considered templates, and to plug relevant content into the various zones. Three user joureys were established which were born from the personas established earlier. Once collaboration had concluded the low fidelity wireframes were translated into hifgh fidelity wireframes in Figma.

Prototype testing

Prototype testing using Userzoom and Figma then began, which finalised the pages and where they would sit within both the residential and Business sections of the Eon Energy website. The original hypotheses of having Electric Vehicles second level in the tree was validated, and a new sequence of templates enabled punchy and effective content.
